Do you need a website if you already have Instagram?

Fair question. Your Instagram has your photos, your prices are in the highlights, and bookings come through DMs. Plenty of Irish businesses run exactly like this. Here is where it stops working, honestly, and where it keeps working fine.

When Instagram alone is enough

You are booked out weeks ahead. All your customers come by word of mouth or repeat visits. You genuinely enjoy posting. If that is you, a website will not change your month. Bookmark this page for later and go back to work.

What Instagram cannot do

  • Show up on Google properly. When someone searches "barber athlone" or "nails near me", Google shows websites and Maps profiles first. Instagram profiles rank rarely and unpredictably.
  • Serve people who are not logged in. A logged-out visitor hits a wall asking them to sign in. Tourists, older customers and parents booking for kids often bounce right there.
  • Answer questions fast. Prices buried in highlights, opening hours in a pinned post from March. On a website they sit one scroll away, always current.
  • Belong to you. Accounts get hacked, restricted and deleted, and support is a form. Your domain is yours.

The signal to watch

Count the DMs that ask questions your profile already answers: "how much is a full set?", "are you open Saturday?", "where exactly are you?". Each one is a customer who could not find the answer. Some ask. Most do not, and book somewhere that answered faster.

The middle path: keep Instagram, add a site built FROM it

The usual objection is time: running a website on top of Instagram sounds like a second job. It does not have to be. beopages builds the site from your Instagram: your photos become the gallery, your bio becomes the intro, your Google reviews slot in beside them. It takes about 10 minutes and the preview is free. Instagram stays your channel; the site catches everyone Instagram misses.

See what it does for your trade: hairdressers, beauty salons, barbers or the full list by trade.
